Work Placement
Aim:
- This module is designed to enable learners to learn from ongoing, meaningful and active involvement in a specific work environment.
- It involves learners preparing and planning for work, working under supervision outside the learning centre, reviewing and evaluating that work
- The experience of work enables learners to develope personal, inter-personal and work skills and to explore work aptitudes and opportunities
Objectives:
On completion of this module the learner will have received training in order to assist him/her to:
- set achievable goals for work experience
- devolop insight into the nature and demands of work
- utilise learning opportunities presented by work experience
- appreciate the importance of safety and welfare in the workplace
- develop employability skills e.g. motivation to learn, communication skills, teamwork, critical thinking, career development, co-operation etc.
- reflect on and review their experience of the workplace
- explore career choices in the light of their own aspirations, experience, abilities and available opportunities

FETAC (Level 4) Work Experience - W10008
Allowances
You will receive a weekly allowance as per FAS training programmes i.e. (Typically a payment equivalent to your Disability Allowance/Social Welfare plus a weekly training bonus of £31.80 and a lunch allowance of £4.00). You may also qualify for a travel allowance. These allowances will not affect your Social Welfare/Health Service Benfits.
