A short Fiction

This musician from Summerhill lives with his mother, loves his synthesizers , but doesn't travel as much as he'd like due to his mother's alcoholism.

Who am I?

d background"My name is Brian Eno. I was born In Dublin in 1948 and I still live in the house I was born in at 33 Richmond Villas, Summerhill, Ballybough Road, North Dublin. I live with my mother who is now ninety seven and suffers from chronic alcoholism. She drinks quite a lot, but I still love my mammy of course. Recently she fell down the stairs and broke her hip, but thanks to modern medicine she was back with me in three weeks, drinking more than ever and with no memory of her tumble.

My interests

d background"My interests are very varied. I'm a record producer and musician and I like to play loud music late at night on my synthesizers. My mother is also deaf so it doesn't bother her in the slighest. I'm also an honorary Professor of Technology at Trinity College, and I enjoy tinkering with electronic gadgets and computers. I'm fascinated by complexity, and have wasted much of my life trying to prove unprovable theories.

d background"I travel frequently, mostly to exotic locations in Dublin like Grafton Street, O'Connell Street and other such places. But I also like to go to Ibiza occasionally where I dance the night away in the clubs and bars. Now, with my mother in the condition she's in, it's harder to take such breaks and I'm stuck at home with my deaf mammy and synthesizers quite a lot. It's a dog's life.
